In January 2025, the Catalan cluster of waste management organized the event “From waste to Resource: Technologies and challenges in sludge treatment”. This conference aims to disseminate outcomes and give visibility to relevant projects in the area of sludge treatment.
Xialei You, from ReLEAF coordinator Leitat, represented the project where she showcased the ReLEAF strategy for valorising urban sewage sludge to promote its implementation, as well as some project insights on how to turn local biowaste into bio-innovative fertilisers.
Partners participated in different sessions and learned about the regulations associated with this type of waste, real business cases and networked with other industry leaders to exchange knowledge and identify solutions for sludge treatment.
The event was a great opportunity to reach some of the project’s target audience, such as sludge managers, and give visibility about ReLEAF and its goals.
