ReLEAF launches public survey on the acceptance of waste-based biofertilisers

Across Europe, large amounts of biowaste and organic residues from food processing, farms, and wastewater treatment, are still underused. ReLEAF is developing innovative bio-based fertilisers (BBFs) that transform organic waste streams, such as food residues, agricultural by-products, and treated organic matter, into valuable nutrients for plants.

This circular approach reduces reliance on mineral fertilisers, prevents nutrient loss, and supports healthier soils and cleaner water.

To better understand how people perceive these waste-based solutions, ReLEAF has launched a public survey on the social acceptance of BBFs. The survey measures public awareness, perceived benefits and concerns, trust in stakeholders, and willingness to purchase BBF-grown food.

The anonymised results will be analysed every six months, helping the project adapt communication and co-creation activities to improve public understanding and acceptance of circular fertiliser innovations.

You can be part of the effort to change agri-food systems in Europe by taking 2-3 minutes and fill in the survey.
